The Global Esports Federation (GEF) said in a press release that the GEG will be held annually in December featuring multi-title esports competitions, with the Singapore Esports Association (SGEA) winning the rights to host and operate the GEG. The inaugural Global Esports Games will provide a worldwide showcase for the world’s esports athletes and players. 

The Organising Committee (OC) will consist of the Singapore Esports Association, Razer and Thomson X and will  be responsible for the successful execution of the inaugural Global Esports Games, GEFcon and GEFestival in December 2021, working hand in hand with the Global Esports Federation.

 Hosted in Singapore on 17 – 19 December 2021, GEG will display the energy, passion and fun of esports with a dynamic program of activities. 

​The Global Esports Games will run from 17 – 19 December 2021 and will feature multi-title esports competitions, GEFcon, the GEF’s global convention of thought leaders, and GEFestival, the dynamic celebration of esports, youth culture and much more.

The GEG will feature teams from across the world participating in multi-title esports competitions.

GEG is comprised of 3 stages:

  • Stage 1: GEG National / Territory Selection

  • Stage 2: GEG Regional Qualifier Tournaments

  • Stage 3: GEG World Finals Singapore

Teams and individuals from across the world will battle it out with only the best of best making it to the World Finals in Singapore.

There are 3 hot titles selected for the competition in various formats.

DOTA 2

The ever popular MOBA game by VALVE. The game will be open for 2 main categories, the Open category and All-Women category with 4 teams each. 

eFootball PES 2021

One of the hotest football titles developed by Konami. Competitors will pit their skills on PS4 in a 1v1 format up to 64 different indiviudals.

Street Fighter 5 by Capcom 

The best arcade fighting developer, Capcom will showcase its game, Street Fighter 5 in GEG for PS4 platform. 64 contestants will battle it out in 1v1 format.

 

The draw for group stages will begin tonight to determine the lineup for the competition.
